The world goes dark

My computer is broken. It's not booting or doing any normal computer things and this isn't good. I have to take it to the shop to get it fixed soon, but those guys are ruthless bastards and I'm going to do the healthiest thing and dread the worst, which is I lose a bunch of files because the last time I updated it all to disc was back in October. So it's not all bad, but I lose the last 7 months of work, which is some of the best I've done. I now realise how great sites like storywrite and deviantart are, cos at least I haven't lost the short stories I've finsihed. I posted a lot of shit up on this blog too, so it's nice to know I have some sort of makeshift internet vault flying around everywhere. I'm typing this on another's laptop, and it's that awkward thing where no one's laptop works very well when you use it because it's not, well, your computer, so the keys are always somehow in the wrong place and the whole things feels very uncomfortable and weird. Like using their toothbrush. I learnt there are softwares that can help recover files after formatting's been done. If worse comes to worse I can always download that (well, the free trial), crack it and see what it can do for a few hundred pounds.
